This card is one I have sent to my eldest son for his birthday this weekend. The stamp reminded me of Cowes, Isle of Wight (where he lives) and so I thought very appropriate. The papers reminded me of stripey deckchair fabric so suited the seaside theme. We could just do with the weather to enjoy such a scene!
The papers are First Edition "Family Ties" matted on some navy cardstock from stash. The image is a Michael Powell tall urban stamp from Docrafts inked with Memento tuxedo black and coloured with promarkers. I used my sewing machine to stitch the layers for a bit of definition. Nestability circle and scalloped circle, a star button and small piece of raffia create a bit of interest and break up all the stripes. The sentiment is computer generated.
The layout of the card was based on an archived Mojo Monday sketch 178 from February 2011, here: http://mojomonday.blogspot.co.uk/p/2011-sketches_24.html
This is gorgeous. I do love those Michael Powell images and you have coloured this one beautifully. The paper and layout look fabulous.
